Motor Unit

The primary functions of the Motor Unit consist of:
  1. Community Policing – sharing the goals of safe driving, traffic courtesy, educating the public on the laws and rules of the road for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
  2. Escorts – assisting with the safe movement of traffic and pedestrians at funerals, parades, running events, dignitary movement, or other specific events as assigned.
  3. Special Events – participating in supporting operations enforcement plans, police riding skills competitions, national police memorial week functions, fundraisers, and other dignitary protection concerns.
  4. Traffic Enforcement – accident investigation, writing traffic tickets, and assisting other law enforcement operations
