Message to the Community

As New Britain continues to grow it is crucial for our police department to stay modern while focusing on the future. A proactive approach to learning from and working with our stakeholders can only assist our efforts in reaching and maintaining a quality of life we all deserve. Building on our past efforts, focused on community oriented policing, will push us towards even stronger partnerships, leading to a deeper sense of community investment by all.

We pride ourselves on remaining one of the most progressive agencies in the state with an increased focus on professionalism, training, and education. As hosts of the best satellite Police Academy in Connecticut, the New Britain Police Department maintains a standard the entire community can be proud of.

I stand behind Chief Christopher Chute’s belief that our success relies heavily on the input and support of everyone who calls New Britain home. Our goals as an agency are rooted in what New Britain has grown to expect from its men and women in uniform.
